BrandoFan
Just as the 5-game set in Wrigley last Sept clearly showed Cards for the choking pretenders they were.....This is as make or break as it gets" They have their 2nd best going up against Cubs' 7th best. Sosa is not in the line-up. Cardinals have played surpringly well on the road. Knowing all that, if Cardinals cannot win today, they have no business talking about the playoffs. Period. :fthecubs
AngelasDaddy0427
The Cardinals are hopeless this year. Not that it matters because the Astros will win the NL Central anyway... It won't matter though because of the inevitable Marlins-White Sox world series. :fthecubs
BrandoFan
Not that it matters because the Astros will win the NL Central anyway... It matters because there's such a thing as a Wild Card. Astros will be lucky if Clemens and Bagwell/Biggio are healthy by the ASB. - if they can't build a 5-game lead while Cubs are without Sosa, Prior and Wood, they ain't winning squat. Also Sox won't sniff the World Series, keep on dreaming. Oh good - Jim Edmonds misplayed a FO into a 2-run double. 4-0 Cubs. Damn.... :headshake

BrandoFan
Any way...Pujols chokes for the n-th time and Woody Williams is a walking BP machine. 6-1 Cubs. :puke

Williams is actually doing the worst of the Cardinal starters so far this season. So it is a battle of the 5th starters so to speak.
BrandoFan
So much for Cardinals making a statement. Cy Rusch time.
MurcieOne
And once Prior, Wood, and Sosa comes back, You think the Cubs wont face anymore injury's??? Cubs will be lucky if they dont see Carlos and Matt go on the DL sometime this season with the way Dusty has worked them the last year+. I wouldnt be suprised if Wood goes down again, and Alou can break at anytime. Plus, what track record do The Rocket, Biggio and Bagwell have for getting injured? If its just by old age, then your wrong. good post. I think that the Cubs are in for a rough summer, they lack the crafty little b****es that can get on base before the sluggers... I mean i think pitchers will allow as many solo Hr's as you'd like, but their pitching staff when all healthy... i dunno i say their the best crew in the bigs. They're missing 2 of their best pitchers (Prior and Wood or Rusch and Mitre...hmm, let me ponder this one) and their HOF slugger is on DL as well. As long as Cubs get and stay healthy, they'll steam-roll people -- all they do is win. That they play "AL" style matters very little. Rowand44
Brando, you never answered my question. What makes you think Roger, Biggio, or Bagwell will go down this year?? Why because he's the most negative person in the world. Obviously in his mind roger, biggio or bagwell will get injured by the asb but the cubs will get everyone healthy and have no other injuries the rest of the year. :headshake
CSF
Cardinals lose, and Woody Williams in a word: Bad. OT, but in the front row, there was a girl in a black tank top who literally spent the entire game on her cell phone. If she watched a single inning, I'd be very surprised. When they showed all the up-close replays, you see her head turned in every different direction but the field itself. It just shows further proof to me that some of their "fans" go to be seen, not for the game itself. Edited May 22, 2004 by ChiSoxFan
