The Beast
I just was thinking of some left handed hitters that could be affordable... Casey, Sean-6.8 mil this year, 7.8 mil next year Erstad, Darin-7.5 mil, ('04) 8.0 mil, ('05) 8.5 mil ('06) Anderson, Garrett 5.0 mil Bernitz, Jeromy Finley, Steve 6.75 mil Winn, Randy 3.3 mil Now in which case of looking for an upgrade...you would most likely shred payroll and get Konerko, Lee and Koch moved. Since we all know KW has been shopping Erstad ever since it was Garland for Erstad. That deal could be still in the works. Hopefully since we know Kenny promised change...and has been looking for a No. 5 starter as well-something that I cannot say change until we see how Cotts do in his opprounity(s)
GO_Todd_Ritchie
I do believe that the Angels who have the best record in the Majors will not trade Erstad or Anderson. SEan Casey has been reported of being on the trading block so we could get him. But we would have to send them prospects and such. JEromy Burnitz will not be able to hit outside of Coors Field if traded. STeve FInley is having a great season and the Diamondbacks would want good prospects in return (possibly JEremy Reed) And Randy Winn he will be on the trading block as long as the MAriners continue to suck. So we are down to either Sean CAsey, Jeromy Burnitz, STeve Finley, and RAndy Winn out of those I would most prefer CAsey because of age and the recommendation that TOny Gwynn gave him. GO_Todd_Ritchie
1 player you forgot is Ryan Klesko. The Padres are willing to trade Klesko and his big ass salary away. The trade could go a little something like this: Padres Get: Carlos Lee Neal COtts Prospect Prospect WHite SOx get: Ryan Klesko Alan Webb

Rowand44
First, Know one even knows when Garret Anderson is coming back this season, and he is one of, if not the most underrated player in baseball. Why would the Angles trade him? And he just signed a contract extension a couple of weeks ago.
Soxbadger
Ive tried to look for Alan Webb, and if hes the player that Ive found, I doubt the Sox would do that trade. Maybe theyd consider Klesko for Konerko straight up, but you can get much better with Cotts and Lee, plus 2 prospects than Klesko. Griffey is a left handed bat who will be available, if the Reds would eat half his contract (over the entire term), he could be a good deal, Reds would still save 5mil a year. By the way, I traded for Erstad in exchange for Konerko today in MVP 2004.
The Beast
And he just signed a contract extension a couple of weeks ago. Because I'm an idiot and forgot about that and went according to my old source of bluemanc.uk something

SB I looked at Griffey, and all the publicity we could get would be amazing...imagine a lineup with Thomas, Griffey and Ordonez, 3 potential HOF's...ouch... SuperSteve
And he just signed a contract extension a couple of weeks ago. Yes he did. He is not so underpaid now. I say no to everyone on your list Beastly. I wouldn't mind Klesko too much. Burnitz is okay. STEVE FINLEY IS 39 YEARS OLD!!!! Casey, um, and he would play where? What about Chipper Jones? I know he's pricey, but we could try to get rid of a contract or two with it. How about Cliff Floyd? How about a cheap Randall Simon? How about a blockbuster for Carlos Delgado (extension would have to be included)? There are so many options, and I think we should wait to see whoelse becomes available. I've wanted the sox to go after Randall since the offseason I think he'd be a great pickup. I think delgado is a pipe dream but he probably will be traded this year. Now also, Finley could be a good short term answer for CF...like Everett last year...and like have you read Phil Roger's column a few days back? He talked about Johnson and Finley for a few players...
