A point among Sox fans

I noticed at the game today that in front of us we had drunken hics...but honestly I thought to myself, Wrigley is like this as well...but then quickman brought up a good point of how "Its like this at Wrigley, but we aren't so innocent as well." Not only that, they were rampaging about women and not caring about what the kids were there...yet two of them said they were married, and I just took a shock to that, um that we also are in a sense of that kind of fans as well...just a thought, had to tell it

If your referring to gays and lesbians i'm pretty sure that are more of them in the Yuppie/Scrubbie crowd.

Don't find to many of them slumming to often...

{I hope this doesn't offend anyone on the board that chooses this lifestyle. I can get a little ignorant at times.}

NO team in any sport has cornered the market on imbeciles.

If you go to any game of any sport in any city, you WILL find morons.

There's simply no way around it.

It's pointless ( and honestly a bit stupid ) to assume that the dopes at USCF are Cubs fans - there are exceptions of course, but I guarantee that the larger percentage of idiots at Sox games are Sox fans.

And sorry to say, when the Sox are in the stretch run for the AL Central title, it's only gonna get worse when the bandwagoners hop aboard.

Such is life.....

No doubt.

Get a crowd of 20,000+ people and there will generally be a representative sampling of dolts.

The bleachers seems to have more than their fair share though.

We went to Schallers after the game yesterday and a drunken young couple literally staggered in, in full Cub regalia. I happened to be talking to one of the Schaller girls at the bar and I mentioned, good naturedly, if they were lost.

The guy tells me, "no, I hear this is a big time Sox bar ... I wanted to see if anyone was willing to come over to the good side of town."

Unbelievable. I told the guy, hey, there are passionate Sox fans in here, watch your P's and Q's. He asked what I meant and I said, you're just waving a red flag in front of a bull coming in here wearing all that Cub s***.

Sure enough, 10 minutes and significant verbal barbs later, they left without incident.

So the moron contingent isn't limited to the ballpark.

They admitted to me they were attending the Sox game because they couldn't get any Cubs tickets, but liked baseball. So ok, but why the Cubs gear, I asked?

As I suspected, that question was over their heads.

As a Sox fan in Minnesota, I would be walking around town with my Sox gear and people do the same thing that you did to those with ScRubbies. We are all hypocrites according to youir beliefs.

Jim didn't do anything to the Cub Couple except warn them that some people would probably harass them over their Cub stuff.

I personally never bother anyone wearing any team's stuff because I also enjoy wearing the clothing/caps of other teams I like ( Reds, Pirates, A's, Cards ). It strikes me as stupid to concern yourself with the clothing choices of others.

Most of the people here seem to have the biggest problem with Cub fans who try to start fights at Sox games, and I agree that it's annoying. But you have to be smarter than ending up in a fistfight with an idiot at a ballgame or you're going to get into more trouble than that type of person is worth.

I suppose it depends on your viewpoint.

I've been to many, many opposing stadiums and ballparks and never wear my Sox/Hawks/Bears gear - I just root for my team quietly, respect the fact that it's someone else's home stadium, and choose not to wave a red flag in front of the bull.

My dad taught me that, and I've never had any trouble on the literally dozens of road trips I've been on.

The hassle just isn't worth it. I still root passionately for my team but I just choose to wear other items from my wardrobe.
