BrandoFan
Take about CLUTCH f***ing pitching - this guy can pitch on my playoff team anyday. When he gets beat, it's because the batter is better, NOT because he chokes his arm slot and release point away when the going gets tough.... Shingo, Lee, Konerko, Thomas, Uribe, Marte and Thomas showed up. Everybody else can suck a nut, including the Great Oz.

Gene Honda Civic
You've got to tip your cap to Duchscherer too.
Jordan4life_2007
You've got to tip your cap to Duchscherer too. Very true. He was flat out nasty. I'm lookin to add him to one of my fantasy teams. I need another reliever.

He's too inconsistent.. scratch that, he's a former Red Sox from the Duquette era, get him immediately ;o
DBAHO
You've got to tip your cap to Duchscherer too. There's our 5th starter we should be targetting right there, Oakland needs a second baseman. If we gave up say Bryant Nelson, who's havin a real good year in Charlotte and a pitching prospect for Duscherer who had success late last season as a starter, would u do that deal? His curveball is plain nasty.

BrandoFan
Clutch pitching (and defense) are often overlook in favor of clutch hitting. I remember Tom Gordon falling behind AJ Pirzinki 3-1 with bases juiced and a winning run at 3rd in the bottom of the 9th in Metrodome last year. He calmly threw a 97mph fastball belt high than AJP couldn't handle, foulding it off. 3-2 count. Then Uncle Tom uncorked a gorgeous curve that froze the s*** out of the Pirzinski. Inning over. That kind of pitching wins championships. Smoltz, Gagne, Rivera...they got it. Again, Shingo will get beat but he won't beat himself. So far this season, Koch, Politte, Marte and Cotts have been their own worst enemies.
DBAHO
I'd rather see Armas who if his contract is paid for completely, the Expos would ship off rather cheaply. Armas worries me with his arm, he could break down any time, if we went afta any1 from the Expos, I'd like it to be Zach Day instead. Capn12
Don't know how you can lump the problems that Politte has had this year with those of Marte and Koch. Lookin at the game logs, Koch has had exactly 1 s***ty game all year, Marte has had 2, and Politte has had 5....5 games where he pitched less than an inning and gave up 1 or more runs. I'm not worried about Marte, I'm sure as hell not worried about Koch. Politte, on the other hand, is a complete anamoly.
Elcaballo45
You've got to tip your cap to Duchscherer too. I think he's learned the 12-6 from Zito... or at least how to get it in the strikezone consistantly, cause that made Uribe and Konerko just look plain silly.
