June 2, 200421 yr to the 10th we go It's better than what could have resulted with a man in scoring position...
June 2, 200421 yr Whew!! Let's win this. Hawk is finished with Koch, too. His closing comment: "Koch gives it up in the bottom of the ninth. And we'll go to extra innings."
June 2, 200421 yr how can you sit here and blame Koch for this?? the two hits he gave up were lucky ass BROKEN BAT singles.. Not to mention Sandy not getting in front of that pitch to let Durazo go to second and then theres no throw due to Rowand forgetting the ball.. They didnt get one good hit off Koch, they were bulls*** broken bat singles... chill the f*** out... it happens Because his job is to f***ING CLOSE GAMES, not give up broken bat, hard-ass, bunt, or what the hell ever else, hits in the ninth. Period.

A 1 run lead SHOULD be enough. Not for koch...

June 2, 200421 yr billy beane is laughing in his office right now Sorry if this offends, but f*** that weasel. I don't know why any GM in their right mind would want to deal with him.
June 2, 200421 yr You're suppose to feel like the game is over when your closer comes in...not like you're going to lose.
June 2, 200421 yr Guys, I'm going to agree...as nervous as Koch makes me, I remember back when Mr. Shutdown Keith Foulke would make me just as nervous...as for Koch today, broken bat singles = luck...you act like he is out there giving up cookies and that is clearly not the case. This happens, and it's just unfortunate for Buehrle and Koch it happened today (2 broken bat singles). We have to forget that now and go out there and NOT strand the bases loaded again. Don't blame Koch for lucky hits, blame our offense for not producing an insurance run when we had 2 clear chances to do it tonight. -y2
June 2, 200421 yr its the job of the closer to CLOSE the game, and shut down the other team. A 1 run lead SHOULD be enough. Not for koch... He's got a very valid point. Any other pitcher and broken bat hits seem to be outs. That coupled with have a defensively crippled catcher behind the plate isn't all Koch's fault. I can't say how his pitches looked because I am at work, but I am just going on what's been posted here.
June 2, 200421 yr theres no way foulke was this bad, foulke didnt do it EVERY GAME... granted he was shaky to say the least at the beginning of whatever season it was... but koch has done this every time!!!
June 2, 200421 yr excellent post and I think a lot less of everyone who is posting about snipers and shooting what immature children we can have in here It does happen, and I'm not the one telling people to shoot his arm, but he's more of a head case then anything else right now. He has talent, but he just isn't a solid closer anymore. You have to admit, c-dub, it's frustrating!!
June 2, 200421 yr Ulcer, not hernia thanx, i couldn't think of a good word to use b/c i was so pissed off at the time, but ulcer is definitely what i was looking for.
June 2, 200421 yr Bottom line is that most of us are tired of Koch because even when he succeeds it feels like you've been to hell and back because of all the ball three counts and walks. it's not the way top shelf closers do it. Joe Crede finally heating up.
