June 2, 200421 yr Well, I'm not trying to defend Koch, but: Sandy Alomar really, really, really f***ed up today, both behind the plate and with the stick. Offensively he could not get a hit with RISP to save his life, that was so friggin terrible. Defensively - Koch threw ONE breaking pitch, it was a pitch in the dirt that you need for your catcher to stop for you. Sandy let it go right through his legs, thus, Koch can basically only throw one pitch, a fastball. I don't think Koch has much confidence in Sandy being able to stop his breaking pitch in the dirt. Sandy - I love your clubhouse presence, your a good guy and all, but damn, you HAVE to be able to stop a ball in the dirt...
