June 9, 200421 yr Bill Parcells apologized Monday for calling the surprise plays used in practice "Jap plays," saying the remark was inappropriate. The league said Tuesday that it will not take any action nor will it review the Cowboys coach's comments. I hate when the media makes a mountain out of a mole hill, this is so stupid.
June 9, 200421 yr Been blown out of proportion. He's apologized already, I don't think it affected the players at all.

June 9, 200421 yr Author He was just telling the media what he calls the trick plays, I guarantee you he isn't sorry whatsoever.
June 9, 200421 yr I hate when the media makes a mountain out of a mole hill, this is so stupid. I agree
June 9, 200421 yr Author classifying japanese people as "sneaky" or "tricky" I guess, but I, like you am wondering how thats not a complement ;o
June 9, 200421 yr i think its more of using the word "jap" and some people were offended by "oriental"
June 9, 200421 yr classifying japanese people as "sneaky" or "tricky" I guess, but I, like you am wondering how thats not a complement ;o but it's referring to a historical event (pearl harbor) moreso than it is referring to their ethnicity...
June 9, 200421 yr Considering Parcell's age, he grew up in an era that "Jap" was commonly used. I agree, this is overhill on the media's part.

June 9, 200421 yr Considering Parcell's age, he grew up in an era that "Jap" was commonly used. I agree, this is overhill on the media's part. It also fueled the name change of Jap's Potato Chips ... now known as Jay's. From what I understand it was a Polish name that was cut down to create the name of the potato chip.
June 9, 200421 yr Been blown out of proportion. He's apologized already, I don't think it affected the players at all. He issued a personal appology to every Japanese player in the NFL, problem was he couldn't find any
