June 11, 200421 yr I've always been a big fan of this guy. He just pitched a complete game shutout against the Royals only giving up 6 hits. He's 5-6 now with a 3.12 ERA. Most ppl think we are going to get Freddy Garcia, I think we should go after this guy instead. He's young, only making $315,000 this season, and he will probably come cheaper than Garcia. I think we should be possibly targetting Day or Joel Pineiro who pitched well in his last outing.

Garcia Will come Cheaper than Piñeiro I know Garcia will probably come cheaper than Pineiro but I don't want to rent Garcia for a couple of months while we could possibly giv up a stud prospect, at least with Pineiro we'd hav him for a couple of seasons. Day had a great season relieving for Montreal in 02 or 03 and now he's havin success in the rotation.
June 11, 200421 yr He's not making enough money for the Expos to be looking to trade him. The Sox would have to hand over cash for the salaries of the guys they give as well as giving close to Major League ready players. That doesn't mean the guys will have to be top prospects, but close to the bigs.

June 11, 200421 yr Didn't Day have some injury concerns? Other then that he's a pretty damn good young pitcher. I've always been a fan of his and he'd look great in Sox pinstripes.
