June 14, 200421 yr I thought Ribbie and Rhubarb died 18 or more years ago.Now,the Sox have a mascot named "SouthPaw"?? It's nice for the kids,I guess,but the thought of the Sox having a mascot makes me :puke . So tell me what you think,Sox fans.
June 14, 200421 yr I know there is a thread already, but I just want to reiterate my opinion. I'm lovin' the new mascot. Maybe I've attended too many minor league hockey games, but mascots are awesome! My favorite is Skates - the Wolves mascot. Another good one was Twister - of the now in limbo Cyclones. I really don't understand why there are people with their shorts in a twist over it.
June 14, 200421 yr I don't mind the Sox having a mascot. It is very common in the MLB anyway The Hawks having a mascot (Tommy Hawk), however, is a complete joke. I could go on forever about how much i am against that.

June 14, 200421 yr I think its great for th kids. Plus it opens up another job oppurtunity at the cell, for those that are unemployed.
June 14, 200421 yr It really doesn't matter what we think. As long as the kids like the mascot, it's a great addition. They sure as hell didn't bring that thing in to entertain the adults. That's what the 5th starter is there for.
June 14, 200421 yr It does matter what we think, as we are paying customers as well. I am in favor of the mascot, don't get me wrong - but what you think about anything the organization does to affect your ballpark experience does matter.

June 14, 200421 yr I'm in favor of bringing in an "Adult Themed" mascot. Some of the avatars and signatures around here would work nicely.

June 14, 200421 yr Skates does - when he gets down during intermission. I don't know who is in that suit, but damn, he/she can really boogie on the ice.
June 14, 200421 yr I used to know who Skates was back in like 95/96/97 or so, he worked at the Barrington Ice Arena There aren't enough ads on the ice in that picture...
June 14, 200421 yr All I ask of a mascot is to stay away from me while I'm watching the game. Ribbie came up to me once and refused to leave (maybe it way my aftershave), so to get him to leave I said "I bet you smell horrible in the rain." He shook his snout and left.
