According to the Sun Times Saturday is the next 5th starter day, or roulette wheel day as I call it. Who do you guys think it's gonna be?

Prolly the best canidate thus far.... gut check for the young south paw.

Diaz might get another shot plus WE WILL FACE THE FRIGGIN' EXPOS!

I believe Munoz will be the next one called up... I'd really liked to have seen Rauch again, but due to the unfortunate circumstances, I suppose he's not an option. Heck, I'd even like to see Diaz again.

 

Oh well, time to see what Munoz can do.

Grilli. I think it would have been Rauch if he hadn't have screwed up. He's been lights out since he went back down, from what I understand. I think they'd be rushing Munoz just a bit if it was him.

 

But I'm hoping it's that Ben Sheets guy.

I don't think I've seen enough Diaz. It was only two starts. Maybe he just wasn't accustomed to the major leagues yet. Even though I said otherwise when Diaz stunk against Cleveland (out of pure anger I suppose), I really think 1 more start might have been a good idea.

I was all about second chances with him after his 1st go at it but when he got turned into a tee ball stand again in his second go-around I was done supporting him.

I wish there was a stat that showed decent pitchers getting hammered their first few starts then panning out and pitching decently.

 

I'd be willing to bet there are pitchers out there that had this happen to them.

Still two chances is not very many to know what kinda pitcher he will be.

Sticking with one 5th starter (who isn't Danny Wright), who could become accustomed the major league style of pitching.

None of the above.......Lets get that trade done and get a real 5th starter in here to do the job right.

I wouldn't mind seeing Diaz again. You can pretty much throw out his 1st start, due to the fact he was pretty much set up to fail. Grilli is another guy I wouldn't mind seeing. And as much as some would disagree. Why not give Rauch another shot? He's pitched well since being sent down. And really, other than 1 inning he wasn't that bad. Sure they hit him hard. Maybe he'll make some adjustments.

I wouldn't be surprised about Rauch. I heard he had permission to leave the game early from Cooper (to stop by his family on the way to AAA, since he was going to be optioned down there regardless of the game's result). Remember, that was the game that Guillen missed. I'm sure if Guillen had been there, none of this would have happened.

 

My impression was that the whole Rauch-gate was just a miscommunication between Rauch, Cooper, and Kenny Williams, who exploded.

 

It'd be really funny if Rauch came up and was a star. The "he'll never play for the White Sox organization again" quote would be sort of funny to have played at a Cy Young award ceremony.
