I never said they wouldn't be okay.  All I said is they don't have what it takes to acquire a top tier pitcher ala Freddy Garcia.

They have Jorge Posada...if they wanted Freddy Garcia, they could just give the M's Posada, take on most of Posada's contract, and be done with it. They could then trade that Navarro kid straight up for Jason Kendall(and I'm sure Pittsburgh would do that...not only do they get rid of Kendall's huge ass contract, they also get a young catcher in the process...what's not to like?), or they can give their top 2 or 3 prospects to Detroit and get IRod.

The Yankees can make almost any move they want to right now. Nothing can hurt them long-term or short-term. They have all the money a team could ever need. What they lose in prospects and actual MLB players via trade they can just replace in FA the next year. It sucks ass, but it's the truth.
