kapkomet
News Cubs pitcher Mark Prior owned a 3.00 ERA following his June 6 start against the Brewers, but official scorer Wayne Franke changed that stat on Wednesday. Franke ruled that shortstop Craig Counsell's sacrifice bunt was a single, thus changing four unearned runs into four earned runs. "You can't do anything about it because it's not up to us," Prior told the Associated Press. "The intent was a sacrifice and that's what it was, but it doesn't matter." Prior's ERA now stands at 4.00. Views Fantasy owners should be none too happy about the ruling, as it obviously jacks up Prior's ERA. Alas, there is not anything Prior's owners can do to change the stat.

Gene Honda Civic
I was watching that game, and I was ranting and raving about how far the official scorer was up Prior's ass... I was seriously pissed off that he wasn't getting charged.. Every five minutes, Chimp was like, and those 4 runs are unearned... Prior's in line to take the "tough Luck" loss... f*** that, a loss is a loss, and its not tough luck anymore f***O

Wedge
I missed the game. How did 1 sac bunt suddenly charge 4 extra ER to Prior's ERA?
CrimsonWeltall
Counsel sacrifice bunts, throw to first is off and he gets to second. Run scores on that play and 3 more score after it. I guess if it's ruled a sacrifice + error, all the runs are unearned and if it's a hit + error, then they're all earned. Counsel would have been out at first if the throw was on-target, btw.
