July 23, 200421 yr See, i don't think the dumbest thing is choosing when to take them. That is bad, but i think the whole "you can appeal this and get at least a game taken off of your suspension, almost every time" routine is complete crap.
July 23, 200421 yr I think the dumbest thing is that starting pitchers only get a 5-day suspension, when that, in reality, translates into ONE start!!! In the world of suspensions, starting pitchers get of WAAAAAAAAAAY easier than anyone else. They should miss at least TWO starts!

July 23, 200421 yr Watching the Flubs game on TV and MLB decreed that Wood still owes 5 games for the suspension they served him with before he went on the DL. So...Zambrano, Hawkins and Wood all owe suspensions to Major League Baseball...hahahaha.
July 24, 200421 yr I agree that something has to be done about issuing suspensions to starting pitchers. If they want to suspend someone for one start, they should make it for his next scheduled start and not this bulls*** "5 game suspension" nonsense. Also, I think any appeal should be heard immediately after the suspension is announced ( or as soon as is logistically possible ). None of this appealing to hold the suspension off for a more favorable time or weaker opponent. Get it heard and get it served.
