July 26, 200421 yr Oliver Perez Pittsburgh Pirates 6-4 3.18 ERA Ranks 6th in NL in SO (133) Ranks 7th in NL in CG (2) Ranks 5th in NL in WHIP (1.09) Ranks 4th in NL in BAA (.205) He may be having a fluke year this year, but I'll take it. Anything wrong with trying to get this guy?
July 26, 200421 yr I doubt he's available. He's young, cheap, and productive - that's something the Pirates want to hang on to.
July 26, 200421 yr The Padres gave up him and Jason Bay, two future all-stars for Giles. If they were to even consider trading him, our farm system would be tapped out to the max. der
July 26, 200421 yr Perez is not on the block. A young, hard throwing lefty, who is under contract for cheap for a while. He's pretty much one of the lone members of the "untouchable" list in Pittsburgh. Maybe and I mean an extreme maybe, if the Sox took on all of Kendalls contract, could you somehow pry Perez out of there. I should add I see about a 1% chance of that happening.
July 26, 200421 yr Dammit I was just going to say that! Okay, I'll give you Prior. New post starts....now.... Schimdt is avaiable. End new post...
July 26, 200421 yr Okay, I'll give you Prior. New post starts....now.... Schimdt is avaiable. End new post... Maybe since Hudson is on the DL Oakland will want us to take him off their hands.
