Larry Fitzgerald

Wow, looks like they've finally found some money in Arizona for the football team.

Wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald has reached an agreement with the Arizona Cardinals on his first NFL contract, according to a published report.

According to the report, the former Heisman Trophy runner-up and University of Pittsburgh star appears on the verge of the most lucrative deal ever for an NFL rookie — $60 million for six years — including guaranteed bonus money in excess of $20 million, which is also a record.

The deal was reportedly stuck at around 2 a.m. ET Monday following diligent work by the two sides.

And it is a possibility Fitzgerald could arrive on time Monday for the Cardinals' training camp practice.

The Fitzgerald agreement leaves eight first rounders unsigned.

Even before selecting him at No. 3 overall, Cardinals' head coach Dennis Green was enamored of the highly-skilled Fitzgerald, a former Minnesota Vikings' ball boy when Green was the head coach.

Fitzgerald also became a friend of Cris Carter, the former Vikings' star wide receiver.

Green has already announced Fitzgerald will start along with returning veterans Bryant Johnson, and Anquan Boldin, last season's offensive rookie of the year.

Fitzgerald, who played just two seasons at Pitt, had 161 catches for 2,677 yards and 34 touchdowns, a school record.

Also the Cardinals just released Pete Kendall probably because he complained about the summer workouts.

:dips***

Until Winslow gets a deal. Kellen is showing he is the jagbag he was in college.

That's sucks they had to release Kendall. Pete is a pretty good guard, or at least he was in Seattle. I don't know how he's been doing for 'zona, really.

Fitz is going to be damn good, imo.

I actually think my Cowboys may him sign as a backup, he could replace Andre Gurode if he plays well enough though.
