Haven't had one of these in a while, thought we'd see how it's shaping up.

I honestly won't know until I step into the booth. I have nagging doubts about Kerry, but want a change in our focus regarding terrorism that I believe Kerry will bring. I also want to avoid a huge crusing debt from this war.

Kerry

It's interesting that you put ALL of the eligible parties in your poll.

Being that none of the other parties have a legitimate chance to win...I have to go with Kerry.

I would be interested in knowing...those people who voted Green, Libertarian, Socialist and/or Independant, if you could only vote for Bush or Kerry, who would you choose?

I think it's even MORE interesting that all of them have a vote.....

I just went with the most likely candidates.

I put down one of the independent parties, but I actually will be voting for Kerry (so, I guess you can just mentally put one more vote for him there). I feel a lot better about voting for him, and hopefully one day we'll actually have a 3rd or 4th party (maybe a centrist party to get rid of all the polarizing going on--that would be nice).

I'm voting for Bush probably.

A legit third party, who captures even 10 or 15% of the house seats would result in the biggest log jam in our nation's history as every bill would take intense negotiations to reach majority. Nothing would pass, and they would control everything as the swing votes.

Hmmm, maybe that would be fun.

But ideally, wouldn't it be better to have a centrist party as well? Mostly I have just been thinking this because the election this year has become so polarizing. You're either conservative or you're liberal. There seems to be no room for political moderation anymore. I think that at first there would be a "log-jam" in the capital, but after a few elections passed there would be a much better flow and dialogue. If there were 3 parties then the politicians would learn (by necessity) to work together. Sounds idealistic, but I feel like the current political path is so polarizing in a few elections there will be absolutely no middle or common ground and people won't be able to talk in a civilized way about elections.

I see in the 45 GOP; 45 DEM; 10 Middle of Road scenario

Accepting the fact that pork fat is how we grease the political wheels, those 10 M.O.R. Party members would command a lot of attention. Basically they would be swing votes.

I would like to see one of our existing parties move to the center, but I don't see it happening. Perhaps one party will dive so far to the extreme, they will work themselves out of a base.
