Quick jab at Big Frank

Most folks in other MLB cities know very little about the White Sox. That includes the "enlightened" ones in the press.

OK my last post was done in haste as pointed out by poorme. I wanted to get that out of the way before I start b****ing and moaning about KW getting fleeced once again.

I dont see why Frank has to get compared to Sammy when Frank has never left before a game

Don't mean to be picky here, but Frank did walk out early at an All-Star game and did leave spring training over a contract dispute.

I'm a big Frank fan, but to be honest those two instances certainly didn't help his image.

Yes, but never let the facts get in the way of a good argument. :smilesanta

media types should just leave frank the f*** alone. i get so sick of hearing these cheap shots. how many other jagbag athletes have been given carte blanche by writers because they're colorful or a good quote. frank is what he is but the positives he's brought to the white sox far outweigh the negatives, yet he still takes crap from douchebags likes this who probably just arrived in this fair city a few years ago. f*** you chris deluca. rock on frank.

Only Yanks can fix Cubs Mess

By Chris De Luca, Staff Reporter

Not sure why he had to include this line about Frank Thomas:

But of course he did...I dont see why Frank has to get compared to Sammy when Frank has never left before a game and at least is professional...I just dont understand why the Sox have to take verbal punishment when they dont deserve it...

Sorry I'm Ranting... :stick

Frank Thomas is many things but there are many things he is not. Among them are: Clubhouse cancer, overbearing hot dog, last of the roid freaks who still wont admit it. Give me a f***ing break. I really begin to doubt that knowing anything about baseball is a prerequisite to being a sports commentator.

For the record, I don't think that leaving early from an all-star game and leaving (your team) early from a regular season game are the same thing.

I'm not sayin, I'm just sayin.

For the All-Star game in question, Frank was one of several players that left early. It was fairly common back then for the 'starters' to leave before the game was over.

If you want to take a stab at Frank, look at his post season average of .231 and slugging of .346 :puke Including his 0-fer 2000 Is only saving grace was in 1993 they kept walking him pushing is OBP to .500

Frank works hard at staying in shape. Frank isn't always the smiling C-Lee sort of guy. It seems like, again just impressions of watching his career, that Frank doesn't have patience for anything outside the foul lines. He also seems to sign bad for him contracts.

I remember a quote when Albert joined the team. He asked other players if there would be a clubhouse problem with Frank. The player replied that Frank wasn't a clubhouse leader sort of guy. Frank would be happy to share any spotlight and wouldn't make waves. It was spun into a negative at the time. IIRC.
