Although he was 41...can't say I'm overally suprised at this one. He never really took care of his body the way someone should.

But my condolonces go out to his family, friends and former teammates. :pray

Wow.

I was really shocked when I saw that. I always get to my computer class a bit early and browse ESPN.com. That one caught me off guard big time. RIP Ken.

That shocked the heck out of me when they reported that on the radio. I knew he did stuff he shouldn't have, but I didn't think he ran his body down that bad.

FWIW.. It's my opinion that the Coke killed him not the roids. From what I have heard roids appear to be linked more to stomach and liver issues versus heart issues.

That's what they were saying on the radio. I remember hearing something about him having a drug problem (besides the roids issue).

I guess I should apoligize for posting this b/c of the Ken Caminiti thread in the Palehose board...but lets be serious doesnt it belong here anyway? I didnt think to look there to see if this story had been discussed on that board ;)

RIP.

He lived hard but he sure knew how to hit a baseball.

Its a shame that a player who was decent even off of steroids will always be remembered for fessing up to using steroids in '96.

you answered my question before I could ask it. Now that I think about it, I think I have heard the same thing.

Doing coke after abusing your body with roids isn't the best combo, wasn't really shocked when i saw this.

Technically, you are right. It should have been posted here. However, when I posted there, it was breaking news and I knew more people would see it on the Palehose board. In fact, I expected it to be moved at some point.
