October 30, 200421 yr Andruw Jones I remember midseason we had a practically done deal- jones for ordonez, so obviously kenny likes him. I am keeping my eye on all of these guys that kenny targeted but couldnt get in offseason and midseason. Also, because of jones fairly large contract, we could trade something like garland and borchard for him. This would give us LF-Carl Everett(Im actually expecting a solid year from him) CF-Andruw Jones(Very solid all around player) RF-Aaron Rowand(Coming off big year-not sure what we will get this year) WITH LF/CF/RF-Timo Perez(Much healthier and faster(injured w/out telling any1)and he is a great clutch hitter and great arm, can play lfcfrf all well) I don't want to see Garland flourish anywhere else than for the White Sox, unless he was a possible Pedro/Lowe replacement in Boston.
October 31, 200421 yr Author For some reason, and I might be wrong, I think some team will be willing to give up quite a bit of talent in a trade for Lee. One tier down from what the Brewers got for Sexson, if you will. Maybe a possible deal with the Blue Jays: Blue Jays trade: Vinnie Chulk, Kevin Cash, Acquilino Lopez, Ted Lilly, plus. White Sox trade: Carlos Lee Take it for what its worth. Like I said, I think Lee is a hot commodity in the trade market. Im not wrong, your not right, just two different opinions. Personally I think Carlos Lee, if on the market, is one of the most valuable players on the trade block. And no, I wouldn't trade him. I'd trade Paul Konerko first. Their is no reason to trade Carlos Lee, imo. He does more things better then Konerko. And I'm a huge Konerko fan. For example, I'll throw this out there. Joel Piniero and Eddie Guardado for Carlos Lee and a prospect. Mariners seem to want to retool their offense and they have been shopping Every Day Eddie for a while and it appears they are willing to trade a hitter. They've always been interested in Lee and frankly he'd be a good fit. Now that deal, thats the type of deal I'd make for Lee. But as much of a fan of prospects I am, I ain't trading Lee for prospects, screw that. The Sox are playing to win now, especially with all these starters under contract.

I would like a konerko for pinero and winn trade. The mariners are shopping him this off-season He can bunt, steal a base, play any outfield position, bat lead-off or 2. Only problem would be is what to do with everett.
October 31, 200421 yr Stay away from Guardado. He has a torn rotator cuff he his trying to rehab without surgery. You know he will eventually have the surgery and miss a season.

October 31, 200421 yr I'm not sure Ted Lilly is available. At any rate, I think Toronto would be retty dumb to give up Lilly. He really came into his own in the second half of last year.

Very true, especially considering they have Gross and Rios who I think are excellent young players. Wishful thinking, but let it be known, I love Ted Lilly.
October 31, 200421 yr Author Ted Lilly's a prospect? No, but everyone else essentially is to a point. And Ted Lilly, while solid, is nothing special. If your gonna give up Lee, get something very good in return.

Only problem would be is what to do with everett. He can learn to play first, plus he should be DH'ing early in the season. He's the backup plan if Frank is hurt or if Gload struggles as a starter. And I agree Pineiro and Wynn for Konerko would work for me. I don't know if the Mariners would do it, I'd assume they wouldn't think Konerko would put up the numbers he did this year in Seattle. Of course I think they would for Carlos Lee. I just think I'd rather move Konerko then Lee.

They are rebuliding and they dont need an 8 million contract and a guy whose in his last year of his contract while giving up one of your better pitchers.
November 1, 200421 yr Author Why would the mariners do that? They are rebuliding and they dont need an 8 million contract and a guy whose in his last year of his contract while giving up one of your better pitchers. The Mariners are not rebuilding. They are expected to be one of the big spenders this offseason. They consider this a minor blip in the radar and the reason they'd do this deal is because Carlos Lee is one of the better young outfielders in baseball, is just entering his prime, and could be a piece Seattle can build around. The Mariners know they need to get some more legit hitters and thats going to be their goal this off-season. They have pitching prospects that they feel confident in and they are rumored to at least be open to dealing Pineiro. In case you doubt, the Mariners are expected to be players in Delgado/Sexson.
