The White Sox in the community

Featured Replies

Say what you will about Reinsdorf when it comes to spending on players but the man really does give back to the community. I wonder what the total number is for charity work through the Sox and the Bulls? Also, considering the size of the Tribune empire, you would think you would hear more about the Cubs charities...but you don't.

Charities...yes!!!

Agree with what the two of you said. The Sox and Bulls do an outstanding job in the community and you have to give credit to JR and the rest of the owners and the organization.

Its called a tax write-off. JR may be cheap, but he isn't stupid.

Then why do the players and coaches put in time in the community? I know some people wouldn't piss on JR if he was on fire, but most of these guys really do care, and make a big effort to give back.

It isn't all about money. They sent instructors to Utica from the Sox Bulls Training Center. JR wants to give money, but also players that want to give back.

Whenever ReinsdorK is interviewed about his charities he always seems very passionate. I think his giving is sincere. He has always done a fantastic job investing in the community.

Now, go get me a fifth starter JR.

my dad works in administration with the chicago public schools and he's always said the sox and bulls have been extremely gracious in terms of offering anything they can to help out, whether its time, tickets or money.

he also said the cubs don't do s***.

yes, back in April there was a tornado that destroyed a small town near where I live and alot of people from The Sox organization went there and actually helped with cleaning up the baseball filed that was destroyed and gave out numerous things. It was a great day for that town. :headbang
