I have a feeling the Sox will use him as a reliever and will only be a closer is Shingo collapses.... I think its a solid pick up.

This is also another good move incase we have to have 3-4 days in a row needing a save. For once KW does something right..in theory.

I don;t mind him as a set-up man but would you rather have a guy that wa 19/20 or 17/20. The job shouldn't even be up for grabs in spring training.

He had a couple of bad games in October that were probably on tv. That's probably why.

I love Shingo just as much as the next guy, but I feel Hermanson is better suited to be our closer. With me saying that, I am sure they will make him our fifth starter.

I don't understand why you feel that he's better suited. Hermanson has been a starter all of his life up until the final two months of 04. SHing has been a great closer in Japan and was sensational for us. One thing you know about Shingo is that he's not going to be afraid to close games. To each his own I guess.

When he was first converted into a closer, it was in a series against the Scrubs, and he f***ing dominated them.

Why screw Jon Adkins? He wasn't bad, At least we got a role for him. Many people were thinking he'd never make it. I think he'll help the pen.

 

 

As for hermanson well he could help the pen, I guess used to be a closer in College when he threw harder. But i bet Kenny will say he'll compete for the 5th starter job

if he truly does become our 5th starter ill be really dissapointed but as a reliever and maybe 6th starter incase something happens ill be fine w/ that.
