ESPN Article on Renteria

I just wonder how much Renteria's agent payed Rogers to write that column.

Perosnally, I think they should give whatever it takes to land Renteria.

I second that statement.

I second that statement.

I'd support signing Renteria if the figure were between 8-9 million per year. It's unneccessary to exceed this amount when Uribe is capable of adequately filling SS

For myself, I was pushing for a whatever-it-takes campaign to solidify the rotation. Overpaying for Jaret Wright, opposed to our SS position, was justifiable because our remaining starter (Grilli) is MUCH worse. We'd significantly improve with a free agent SP opposed to signing Renteria for a similar amount.

Yeah I wouldn't lose any sleep over losing a 2nd-rounder if it means landing an Edgar Renteria.

With the extra picks the Sox got last yr [and beefed up the minors] losing a pick this yr wouldn't be so bad [even for the sox who seem to take not losing draft picks as a badge of honor].

sooner or later, KW has to realize that he can't trade his way to winning the division. Some balance is necessary. And Renteria is the kind of guy worth losing picks for.
