December 14, 200421 yr Ryan Meaux - Starting Pitcher White Sox designated LHP Ryan Meaux for assignment. Meaux, who was acquired along with Felix Diaz from the Giants for Kenny Lofton at the 2002 trade deadline, went 7-9 with a 4.04 ERA, 163 H and 103/46 K/BB in 140 1/3 IP for Double-A Birmingham last season. He lacks much in the way of upside, but he has to a chance to be a solid lefty reliever. He might get claimed.
December 14, 200421 yr Well this frees up a spot on the 40 for a potential signing. I figured Reynoso would be the one to be pulled. If Meaux gets claimed I wish him the best. He should make it to the majors as a back end reliever, eventually.

Yeah it should be interesting to see if a team that claims him, gives him a legiminate shot at making the pen out of spring training, or whether they keep him as a starter, although you'd hav to believe it'd be the former.
December 15, 200421 yr Ah so Meaux must be the next "we give away so many awesome prospects" minor leaguer....
