Dang.  I'll be easy to pick out because I'll be one of a handful of people cheering for the man and acknowledging the 8 years he gave us.

Gave us???? He was paid! Once he wasnt ,he left :nono

Didn't Doug make a thread like this and you all flamed the s*** out of him?

Don't worry, I'm the punching bag here at soxtalk...

I know I make some stupid comments and topics, so it really doesnt effect me.

I'd probably still cheer. Maggs gave us a lot of good years here in Chicago and I respect that.

the way he left the team, i'd have to boo him.  he tried his best to make the sox look like the bad guys.

now i'm not saying they're 100% clean, but it was totally classless.

He was probably right to do so. This organization gets no sympathy from me if they take a well deserved bloody nose in the media.

Is total indifference an option?

Is total indifference an option?

Of course. Just like when someone like Wilson Alvarez pitches against us.

I'm just hoping his knee injury forces him to retire. And if it doesn't, I will boo him.

Ya, that is just not cool no matter how much you hate him. :headshake

My my. Maggs is leaving town and all of a sudden he's a bad guy. Never mind all those homeruns and RBI he had for us over his tenure here. Tell me, does Jerry Reinsdorf whisper in your ear what to post on Soxtalk? Oh, wait, saying what you said is beneath even him.

Sorry if the comment offended you, perhaps it was harsh. Yes, it was harsh. However, my point being, he had the chance to take a good offer from The Sox and turned it down and when KW did what any smart GM would do he got blasted for it and prompted Maggs to blast The Sox entirely. That, in my book isn't right. I know JR isn't a saint, I'm the biggest Carlton Fisk fan I know and I'm still pissed all these years later at what JR did to him. I'm not going to try to start an argument or anything on here, but you don't know me, so the dips*** smiley wasn't necessary.

Fair enough.

I posted several times how I thought Maggs was being greedy for wanting more than the 15 MIL the Sox were offering but thats as far as I took it.

However, a :headshake was entirely appropriate.

It was, my comment in hindsight was uncalled for. Frustration, I guess :bang

Well this topic is a hit.

Well this topic is a hit.

Minny, you make good topics, you just lose your integrity over AIM.

I should have read further before replying. I retract my earlier comment.

The only flaw to  my plan is how the hell do you get the entire crowd to be silent?

I could tell a joke? :D
