I'm afraid if we sign Cora and he starts to suck that Ozzie will keep him in the lineup just because of his relationship with his brother. I would just perfer to stay away from that whole situation of bringing in kids or family members of the coaches. I'm also not sold on the japanese guy but I wouldn't be too disappointed if we signed him, Shingo worked out for us. I do hope we don't spend over 4 mil for him. The guy i'd want is Cairo. I just think he's the one guy on the market that has the best chance to improve on what we don't already have.
January 4, 200521 yr Now look at 2B. Without getting back into the Harris debate for the umpteenth time, KW is looking to augment at a minimum and probably upgrade. Whether or not they sign Iguchi, KW is looking. Again, good business. Guillen probably popped off a bit too much on Harris at year's end, after Harris himself did. They have not come out and trashed Harris this winter but they are clearly looking to upgrade. Why would they want to upgrade on a guy who is good defensively and statistically had a decent year (average, stolen bases, etc.)? Because there is something they don't like about Willie Harris. It could be "this" it could be "that" it could be who knows what. We as fans can guess and we may be 100% right. Maybe, maybe not but it's hardly clear. What they REALLY don't have at the moment is a utility IFer, it seems it's the Willie bashers who have been calling for his replacement in the process and I've heard nothing that'd suggest that KW is one of them.
