January 6, 200521 yr But they released the preseason polls: Tulane LSU Fullerton Texas Miami Thats the top 5. Go Titans Fullerton plays Stanford (#6) On Feb 4th at home so I can't wait to catch my first ball game of the season
January 6, 200521 yr QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 02:42 PM) UNC at #14 with 2 AA's, I'll take it. Hey palehose I got 2 questions for you: You follow UNC football? Did you go to UNC?
January 6, 200521 yr Sorry I didn't see this until now. But yes I follow just about all UNC sports and I explained my Carolina affiliation in your pm. I love almost everything about UNC, from Franklin Street to Laurie Dhue .
January 6, 200521 yr You hear about the dual threat QB that verbally commited to UNC? He runs a 4.4 40 and was the 7th ranked dual threat qb in the nation. Sounds like he could be an awesome playmaker. btw: UNC is my 1st choice for college. Hopefully I'll go visit this summer, I cant wait.
January 7, 200521 yr Thats awesome and yeah Cameron Sexton is his name. He's gonna be a very good one, he's hosting his good friend a top 10 TE this weekend on an official visit, so that should be good. As for applying to UNC, if you are out of state its very, very tough. I've heard of 1350 SAT kids getting turned down. But it can definitely be done, so good luck with it. You would enjoy being surrounded by 70% females , atleast I would.

I do have a cousin that is dean at a Junior College in NC and she said to just let her know and she'll talk to some people. Besides that, all I can try to do is up my ACT and SAT score and hope for the best.
January 8, 200521 yr Just watched some recruiting show where some linebacker committed to FSU live, choosing them over both Va Tech and UNC. If they repeat his name, I'll try and add it. That segment finished 5 minutes ago.
January 8, 200521 yr His name was Everette Brown. Bobby Bowden had an in home with him and pretty much forced him to commit or lose a place at FSU. Its good recruiting tactics, just irritates the hell out of me. UNC was sitting very well with him. They are also after another top 5 NC linebacker in Derek Nicholson who's brother plays at FSU, his name is AJ Nicholson. Their father played at UNC, so its still a fight, but I think he's FSU's to lose also unfortunately. They always raid NC for a top 5 player in the state.
January 8, 200521 yr The best thing about college baseball is all of the beautiful scenery attending the games, all of the Heather Lee's running around. There is nothing better than SEC baseball, trust me.
January 9, 200521 yr College Baseball is fun stuff. Too bad it's almost impossible for Big 10 teams to go to Omaha. Did anyone see the article in the last BA about the Big 10? It was good stuff. My favorite non-Big 10 team is CS Fullerton. Is that where you're at, Jason?

Yep...its a blast getting to go to the games for free as a student. You can basically sit anywhere but the season ticket spots. And there are always seats open behind home.

January 9, 200521 yr Interesting. That school has interested me. I knew you went somewhere in California, just didn't know where.
January 9, 200521 yr Author QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Jan 9, 2005 -> 04:00 AM) So how many people do they draw for a game? I think their record attendance is around 3000. Any given night I'd say between 1000-2000. They should have a huge turnout for the opening weekend Stanford series. I know I'm going to at least two of the games.
January 9, 200521 yr That's alot, for a college game. Then again, it is Fullerton. Is the atmosphere comparable to something along the lines of an Illinois basketball game?
January 10, 200521 yr Author No, although during big games it gets pretty loud. Its open air and a smaller stadium so imo no college baseball game will rival a college football game at say the big house or a college basketball game at Illinois or any of the other tough places to play.
January 10, 200521 yr Ah. I didn't really mean the noise level though. I meant the...spirit? I dunno, something along those lines. I hope you get what I'm trying to say, lol.

Is the atmosphere comparable to something along the lines of an Illinois basketball game? Actually it is not a lot for a college game. The SEC and Big 12 draw much bigger crowds. LSU averaged just under 7500 last year, which is a pretty normal year for them. Mississippi State averaged 6400. In a down year on the field, Alabama averaged 4400. Here are the attendance statistics for top 50 teams in the NCAA last year. Note the SEC has 7 of the top 12 and many of the Big 12 teams are ranked high as well. January 10, 200521 yr Author Ya, but I'm willing to guess in the hot chick ratio department, Fullerton ranks up with the SEC schools However I will say this, Fullerton can't touch them in that department in regards to football games
January 10, 200521 yr I'm ready....my South Carolina boys are preseason #8 already, having finished with the 2nd most wins in College baseball last year I believe. We have a few holes to fill though, namely Landon Powells presence behind the plate. Considering we took the eventual CWS champ to 3 games in our bracket (CSF), I feel good about the state of the program. Look out for the Gamecocks again in 2005!!

Helll yes... they definately got screwed in the polls again this year though, but we should be going on another 16-19 game winning streak again this year and move up to 1 or 2 sometime this year.. By the way Capn., I know I've asked you this before, but where are you from again?
