January 26, 200521 yr Author QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 26, 2005 -> 09:15 AM) Who do you want making the decision regarding your life? Me. And when I make that decision I expect it to be followed.
January 26, 200521 yr QUOTE(Steff @ Jan 26, 2005 -> 09:18 AM) Me. And when I make that decision I expect it to be followed. Most people don't put it in writing unfortunately.
January 26, 200521 yr You should not have the right to terminate your own life. Unless we amend the US Cons that right does not exist. The US Cons clearly defines the state's rights in preservation of life. That is what this case is about. You can mention his witnesses & I can refer to your own timeline which refers to a witness that was closer to her that contradicts his. So I'm certainly not going to suggest a decision on her life & death be made on the basis of heresay. The best path is to go forward with the 5 doctor consensus analysis that was proposed earlier in the timeline. That removes the politics & self-interests of Schiavo from the case.
January 26, 200521 yr Author You do have the right to choose be taken off life support.. if dying is the result.. so be it. That is not terminating your life. It's choosing not to live a falsehood. It's perfectly legal. It's called, among other things, a living will, a DNR order, etc, etc.. You really should read up on this case a bit more. There have been over 13 doctors involved in this case. They agree that she will never improve.
