Kenyan wife-eater 'to be hanged'

 

 

A Kenyan man has been sentenced to death for murdering his pregnant wife and eating her liver and part of her heart.

Lolwakenju Lengironi was caught in 2001 beside his wife's mutilated body, with blood on his mouth.

 

At the court in Kenya's capital his lawyers argued he was drunk and temporarily insane at the time.

 

The Maasai tribesman, who lived in a Nairobi slum area, has two weeks to appeal against his sentence.

 

Kenya has not carried out a death sentence by hanging for many years.
