February 26, 200521 yr just some quotes, nothing big or anything. TSN ''You can't go around and try to replace any player,'' Dye said. ''This is a business and players change teams all the time.'' ''Dye is a guy who has always broken something,'' White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen said. ''I'm going to take care of him the most I can. I just want him to be ready for the season.'' 'It should be fun. It just takes time to get used to each other, figure out how each other plays,'' Dye said. Dye said he's already enjoying Guillen's approach that features plenty of laughs and running commentary from the talkative second-year manager. ''He keeps you loose. He makes it easier to play. He's played the game and understands what the players go through,'' Dye said. ''Even with all the joking around, each player knows he still has to go out there and perform.''
February 26, 200521 yr So far everything seems positive for him too. But I would hope so, I just hope everyone stays positive this whole year.
February 27, 200521 yr I'm excited to see Dye this year. I think he will be solid this year. Not great but i'll be more then happy with a .270 + BA and 25 + HR's
February 27, 200521 yr QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 26, 2005 -> 09:37 PM) ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ minus 3 HR minus 10 RBI minus 10 points on the BA I'll take your numbers.
February 27, 200521 yr .270 30 110 .850 seems reasonable to me, quite honestly. Second year back from basically taking a year off, plus he is going to a hitter's haven, and he is going to the AL Central, where the pitching is lacking for the most part(Minny is good, but Cleveland is so-so, Detroit is mediocre, and KC is bad minus Greinke)
February 27, 200521 yr I'm gonna say he hits somewhere around .250 and hits 20 something HR's and misses about 30 games.
February 27, 200521 yr I'll give Dye a .270 BA with 80-90 RBIs and 24 HR's. He'll have around 30 "Healthy Scratches," giving Jurassic some playing time in his place.
February 27, 200521 yr He has to know that no one is asking him to replace maggs, if he hits .280-.290 with 20 HR's and 80 RBI's, everyone is gonna be fine with that.
February 28, 200521 yr How ironic...as I read the quotes, guess who comes up on MVP Baseball 2005.....yeah, Jermaine Dye.
February 28, 200521 yr And he just hit a 1st pitch HR over the LF wall at Jocobs Field off Cliff Lee! And A-Row makes it back-to-back jacks! YEAH!!!!!!!!!
February 28, 200521 yr Cool idea, MVP 2006 should have an option for custom commentary. I could take clips of Hawk (and DJ) and put them in my game for events like HRs, K's, double plays, etc.
