While I am no where NEAR being a rap fan, Compare 50 Cents lyrics, someone you Shager says will "take over the rap game" and be remembered for decades, to 2pac, and I think the difference is pretty obvious.

o the lyrics have nothin to do with it my friend. Talent wise there are a 100 rappers better than 50. But his charisma, appeal, and hype will lead him to the top. And he already is there any ways, lol. Out of like 10 stories about music these days, half are about him or about somebody connected to him. He is not talented at all lyrically hes just an amazingly smart business man

If 50 was a woman he'd be posing in playboy and leaking sex tapes to the internet about now. Instead he just stages fake "rap wars".

Lyrics have nothing to do with it? Its RAP, what the hell else is there???

It amazes me how we have to have a thread every 3 to 5 days about 50 cent. Notice we didn't have that until some folks stood up and said he sucks.

Who the f*** cares (besides shag and maybe one or two other people).

I know, I know. Who cares about the Beatles?

You're entitled to your opinion but I find it funny that this was not an issue until anyone disagreed about it.

Case in point, you have good lyrics and you have bad lyrics.

Mr. OG Loc

"I'm the man in the Place, Punch you in the face, a gun in my waist..n**** dig the race.. "

This about sums it up.

Can somebody explain how it is that he calls himself "Fidy", and tells us that is what his name is supposed to be? If you use the NUMBER "50" as your name, then isn't it "Fifty" that becomes your name? Seriously? People tell me time and time again it is pronounced "Fidy" or whatever. But how can that be if it is plainly "50"???

Also, from the examples above, is the bottom set of lyrics Tupac? So, Tupac was from the time when Rappers actually spoke English?

Fidy is street, yo. Drinkin' fodies and listening to Fidy, etc.

I was having dinner with some grad students on Saturday--and two of us were talking about the fued between 50 and the game (both white girls) and we were calling him fiddy.

Well, this boy that was with us goes, oh yeah, "I think I heard about that. Wasn't FifTY Cent also involved?"

I'm not a huge fan of hip hop, but pop music is pop music. You're right, he just manipulates the masses who can't think for themselevs and will buy into whatever is spoon fed to them by radio and MTV.

I know it is "Street" and all that stupid crap, but how can anybody argue that his name is pronounced "Fiddy" or whatever when he uses the NUMBER??? I would go along with him correcting myself and my posse if he wasn't using a NUMBER. But by his ways, I should be paying "Fiddy" cents for stuff and anytime I come upon the number I need to start pronouncing it "fiddy". I mean, I guess 50 is actually pronounced "fiddy" in everything. 100 is now pronounced "hundo", 2 is now pronounced "toowah", and I'll let you all know the new pronunciation for every other number as soon as I get my street cred and posse hooked up.
