I think what Vitale does best is promote the overall game of college basketball. I have no doubt that his enthusiasm is for real. But he is no longer a great analyst. The "cheerleading" has just gone too far and I don't feel he really offers very much good information as an Analyst. I think he is good for the game overall, but more in an entertainment/promotional aspect than a serious analyst. I just think he has taken his persona over the top to the detriment of his ability as an analyst.

Butter the problem is that your just way too biased on this. Believe it or not, there are people on here who have seen JJ play, many times. This includes myself. JJ is good, but he is not the best player in every facet of the game like you make him out to be sometimes. His defense, no matter what you think, is not amazing. And yes, he gets away with shoulder drops and push offs plenty in the lane, whether you see it or not. He's not the only one. But to say he never does is just ignorant.

Stoudemire 110 out of 213 at a .512 clip, 91% FT, .512 FG%

 

So lets compare. Redick has 5!!! more made 3's on the year, while taking 63 more 3's, has a 2% higher FT average, and .10% less in FG%, yet Redick is the better shooter? OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOK then.

I have seen Redick play tons of times, because Duke is on TV all of the time. I haven't even offered my opinion on his play, or that of any of the other players that were mentioned.
