Opening Day gathering

Featured Replies

Just to inform some of the U of I posters and lurkers here, I'm planning on having a party at the bar of Geovanti's for opening day. I need at least 40 people, and a message was sent out through facebook, but I figured at most it would be $3 per person We get a keg, and lots of appetizers.

Just let me know if you are interested, and I'll get some more details about it after the Cubs-Sox game today.

There will be a very solid opening day gathering of mine... At Comiskey Park :headbang

Speaking of Opening day SS2k5....I don't want to hijack this one...but where is the usually opening day pre game thread?? Are most people going to be in the same parking lot...Somebody needs a big soxtalk flag or something that we can see

If you take go to the entrance at the Bullpen Sports Bar and turn 180 and follow the fence all of the way to 37th street, that corner is usually where we meet. I am sure there will be a tailgate thread soon enough with more details. Any who are interested are welcome.

I'm down. Contact me via PM when you get all the info.

Santo, thanks for the offer, but i won't be on campus on April 4th.

I'll either be at the Cell for opening day...

....or in St Louis watching the Illini in the NC

Either way it will be a great day, but i'm hoping it's the latter.

It's official.

We'll start at 1 PM, the appetizers will be served at 1:30 PM, and then the game will be from 2-5.

It's only $3 per person, so you're more than welcome to bring any of your friends that are Sox fans.

Hope to see everyone who can make it there! :cheers

I may be down.

If the illini win on saturday, there's a possibility I'll be there.

If we lose, i'll be @ the cell.

i wish i could be there

So what's the story with your OD ticket, Krush, now that you have "other plans" for Monday.... :D

It looks like I'll be stopping by.

Is there going to be a keg for sure? Because I plan on getting wrecked before tip-off.

Wow, the Illini are in the National Championship and White Sox are opening the season at home with Buehrle on the mound--does it get any better? :D :headbang

Yeah it'll be either MGD or Miller Lite, and if we get more than enough people (very likely) we'll probably get a second Keg. :cheers :drink

Remember everyone, it starts at 1 PM, and there is a 1 hour pregame show.
