April 8, 200521 yr Today, Cub fans are in heaven. It's opening day at Wrigley Field. As they are walking up to ballpark, they see all their fellow Cub fans wearing the Cubby blue hard hats. As they get closer to "the Shrine" they all get to experience the memory enhancing smell of old urine. Then, inside the park, they walk up ramps and admire the quaintness of the netting on the under side of the upper deck as they kick away bits of concrete laying at their feet. Then the field opens up before their eyes as they hit the top of the ramps. They all stop and and admire the brown lifeless vines along the outfield walls. Then as the Cubs take the field, you feel the aniticipation ... then confusion. You hear whispers. Something's wrong! Why isn't Sammy sprinting out to right field? Where's Sosa? Opening day at Wrigley ... You gotta love it. Edited April 8, 200521 yr by YASNY
April 8, 200521 yr What I want to know is, where are all the Cub fans? They're known so much for loving their team, yet they just showed a picture of the park, and it's half empty? Game a little too long, I guess? Oh, and I forgot that they stop serving beer after awhile. Gotta get that Old Style at one of the local bars...
April 8, 200521 yr Don't forget that LaTroy blows the save with a 1-run lead in the 9th. And now Spivey knocks in the go-ahead runs on the 12th inning. Brewers take the lead, 5-3. EDIT: Make that 6-3 Brewers. Ahhh, what a joy it must be to be a Cubs fan. Edited April 8, 200521 yr by Jabroni
April 8, 200521 yr FLUBS LOSE, FLUBS LOSE!!! They are now 1-3 on the season. Flubs' fans will be jumping out of windows soon. Edited April 8, 200521 yr by Jabroni

April 8, 200521 yr It's funny to hear Busty Baker have to defend LaTroya as the closer again. "Uhhh, yeah we still have confidence in LaTroy. He threw the ball well. We still have confidence in him." Yeah right, Busty. :rolly
April 8, 200521 yr This is the sad part of my Sox fandom talking... ...I have to admit that this loss somewhat eases the pain of yesterdays meltdown. Not sure why, but it just does.
April 8, 200521 yr This is the sad part of my Sox fandom talking... ...I have to admit that this loss somewhat eases the pain of yesterdays meltdown. Not sure why, but it just does. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes, it does. Even though Shingo blew it yesterday, it's nice to know that LaTroy is still the king of blowing 1-run leads in Chicago.
April 8, 200521 yr I dont know why I add to this, but I laughed my ass off watching highlights. LaTroy had Overbay at 1-2 with 2 outs and Hollandsworth bobbles the tying basehit. AND the homer score keeper didnt give Hollandsworth an error. That obviously cost them the game.
April 8, 200521 yr Ryan Dempster is the answer at closer. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ryan Dempster is the answer at AAA. He has no business being on a major league team. The guy can't find the plate to save his life. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I just found this photoshop pic at the Flubs' board... Ryan Dumpster Edited April 8, 200521 yr by Jabroni
April 8, 200521 yr The Flubs' fans are getting restless. Check out this horrible, horrible post... "hope they all die in a plane" http://www.forums.mlb.com/n/mb/message.asp...=144776.1&ctx=0
April 8, 200521 yr A Flubs fan just called into Murphy on The Score and said he was ready to become a Sox fan after today's choke. Screw off Flubs' lover. We don't need you. Edited April 8, 200521 yr by Jabroni
April 8, 200521 yr More heartbreak for Flubs' fans. Cardinals come back to beat the Phillies 6-5. Edited April 8, 200521 yr by Jabroni
April 9, 200521 yr QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 8, 2005 -> 05:56 PM) It's funny to hear Busty Baker have to defend LaTroya as the closer again. "Uhhh, yeah we still have confidence in LaTroy. He threw the ball well. We still have confidence in him." Yeah right, Busty. :rolly it wasn't really hawkins fault today. it's not his fault his outfielders can't pick up a a baseball
April 9, 200521 yr Let's just get the Southside trifecta and then it will be an awesome day. First and Foremost we need to win.
April 9, 200521 yr it wasn't really hawkins fault today. it's not his fault his outfielders can't pick up a a baseball <{POST_SNAPBACK}> So it's not LaTroya's fault that he choked and gave up a single and a double back-to-back with 2 outs?
April 9, 200521 yr QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 12:16 AM) So it's not LaTroya's fault that he choked and gave up a single and a double back-to-back with 2 outs? spivey should have never scored from 1st on a decenly fielded ball. Just saying.
April 9, 200521 yr QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 8, 2005 -> 11:16 PM) So it's not LaTroya's fault that he choked and gave up a single and a double back-to-back with 2 outs? Cough, Cough!!! April 9, 200521 yr QUOTE(BridgeportHeather @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 12:52 AM) I don't even wanna KNOW what goes on behind closed doors in THAT locker room! Couldn't be as bad as last year with the one guy corking his bats and another pissing on hands.
April 9, 200521 yr QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 01:55 AM) Couldn't be as bad as last year with the one guy corking his bats and another pissing on hands. I'm thinking more along the lines of rainbow-colored flags.
