Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago.

Also, our nation was the most prosperous in

the world, had essentially no national debt, had

the largest middle class in the world, and Mom

stayed home to raise the kids!!!

Damn those Republican tax cuts

Reaganomics happened and we haven't been the same since.

 

Honestly I'd be more concerned about the national deficit and the value of the US currency more than taxes. Both of the above actually have a bigger impact on your wallet than taxes. (Interest Rates, import goods prices, etc)

The sooner we move away from annual taxes & licenses to sales driven taxes & licenses the better. We can't compete with the rest of the world if we keep growing our antiquated tax system. That goes for both the Fed & local governments.

 

Face it. Were doomed. The Chinese will own us soon enough.

They don't have a deficit & they don't have a floating currency rate & they make nearly everything we own.

Everyone said the same thing about Japan 15 years ago. Enough said.

Some people say that the Kuwait battle was sort of engineered to put Japan in its place economically. (Kuwait was the top exporter of oil to Japan and the country basically footed the bill for Gulf War I)
