April 19, 200520 yr I remember reading a Fan's View from the Trib last week IIRC, and he said that Mark has problems winning a big game against a "name" pitcher. I'd like to see his record in those types of games actually. But when you have a look at his track record, how much he is signed for over the next few seasons, and how much other mediocre starting pitchers got this off-season, we're very, very, very lucky to have him.
April 19, 200520 yr I also heard on MJ&H yesterday that MB has more wins and innings pitched than Maddux and Glavine at this point in his career.
April 19, 200520 yr QUOTE(mreye @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 10:36 PM) I also heard on MJ&H yesterday that MB has more wins and innings pitched than Maddux and Glavine at this point in his career. Just have a look at JG. He was really the better prospect b/w the two when they were in the minors, MB was like a 37th round pick and JG was much earlier than that, but they've been completely the opposite since hitting the majors. Just shows how good MB has been since he's come into this league from day 1, which is so damn hard to do. Dontrelle Willis did the same, and Felix Hernandez probably will when he hits the majors for Seattle later this season, but other than that, the track record is pretty bleak.
April 19, 200520 yr QUOTE(mreye @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 08:27 AM) Ha ha, Steff. I came up with one "even more impressive" than you. I didn't mean it like that, I meant even more impressive stats for Mark
