NUKE_CLEVELAND
When we all saw the lineup for this game everyone on the boards went nuts saying it was gonna be a slaughter and our guys would be kicking balls across the infield...........but...........it didn't happen. Freddy Garcia stepped up and pitched his ass off for 7 innings and the only reason we lost is cause we couldn't get the clutch hit. That's all. We finished the trip 6-2 which is kick ass by my standards. We get a day off tomorrow to rest up and get some guys healthy, we got some nice home cooking coming up, and we're done with Oakland. No flaming wreckage of a thread tonight.

There is the grinder mentality everyone has wanted. Get home, get healthy and start a new streak.
greasywheels121
I agree Nuke. Regardless of what happened to Crede at the end, he's become one of my favorites this year. I was one of the people trying to wipe the venom a lot of you guys threw on him early in the year. After defending him early on and what he has done since then, I've gained a whole new respect for Crede. Crede also did an excellent job filling in at shortstop today. Crede... Melissa1334
yea, people shouldnt be too upset. i dont see why everyone is ripping hunter W- whatever his last name is. crede stuck his arm in. plus, it was two outs. we dont know if scott gets a hit. he could have gotten out. we had widger playing 3rd, crede and JD playing ss, cotts catching in the bullpen, we were banged up. we should be glad, like yous said, that we didnt get slaughtered. >i bet Ozzie is probably still thinking about hunter-he hates him more than Maggs probably. >see, this is why you dont start thinking about getting playoff tickets- weve only played a month! we should have swept this series though. mark pitched like a 5th starter yesterday and this club couldnt do s*** offensivelt today. (jeeze JD is just absolutely brutal! :headshake )
SnB
6-2 roadtrip which included a west coast trip. we'd take that in a heartbeat last year. hopefully i'll see alot of you at the game on friday.

Guess you don't know his history with sticking it to Ozzie and the Sox. This guy shouldn't be behind the plate for any Sox games.

EDIT: By the way I'm not pissed off at the team just pissed off by the fatass ump at 3rd tonight and the other f***er who obviously liked the idea of seeing Jermaine Dye at ss. JD playing short? jeeze. but this can only help the club, bring them more together. Freddy, the rest of the sox, they played their asses off. we talk about how our pitching is so good, getting the DP's , give the A's pitching some credit too. they got the DP's when they needed too. > a fan on the mac, jurko, and harry show brought up a good point. do u's think the A's hold a grudge over the sox because they broke eric chavez's hand? jeeze. look at all the batters they hit. and we all know that everett getting hit on his ass was 100% intentional. we'll never know.... (you think the cubs would offer D-Lee straight up for PK? )

bjm676
Anyone know if we're done with McAfee Coliseum? I'd hate for the Sox to even step foot in that place again this year.

southsider2k5
This game went well, but I will say that Oakland is really poorly schooled in fundementals. They never tried to test the left side of the infield at all. If I am Mark Kotsay, I put down a bunt on the first pitch of the game, and try to take advantage of Widger and company. I also am trying to steal bases, and just generally wreaking havoc. They did nothing. Ken Macha is an idiot, that's all.
