May 13, 200520 yr Every time I see Konerko batting he always lays off the pitches thrown right over the plate then goes golfing at a pitch in the dirt or away and strikes out or pops up. This is just maddening to me.

We just have to be patient, I guess. He had a nice RBI double yesterday where he went with the pitch and hit a gapper but today he was back in the s***house again. I dont know what his big issue is but he's making life difficult for this team and costing himself contract dollars once this season is over.

May 13, 200520 yr Author QUOTE(El Piervizdyeguchansodnik @ May 12, 2005 -> 09:54 PM) 2003. Using that logic we'll have to wait until the All Star Break for him to get it going. We might be winning without his production but he's hurting his cause a lot.
May 13, 200520 yr QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ May 12, 2005 -> 09:49 PM) Every time I see Konerko batting he always lays off the pitches thrown right over the plate then goes golfing at a pitch in the dirt or away and strikes out or pops up. This is just maddening to me. This is exactly what I'm seeing with him and Dye. Both basically are saying, we aren't swinging on the first 2 pitches and every pitcher knows that. The pitchers usually throw a fastball over the middle of the plate within the first 2 pitches and give them junk afterward and that's when they decide it's time to swing. I could expect this from Dye, but not PK.
May 13, 200520 yr Well in Tampa i think he actually swung at a 1st pitch strike... so maybe he is begining to turn it around..... I just hope Konerko and Dye figure things out soon because we going to need them.
May 13, 200520 yr I'm just shocked we're winning without Pauly. Guess that gets me even more excited. Perhaps he's helping the team with his suckiness by building up the potential explosion he's gonna have starting in a week and a half at Wrigley.
