May 17, 200520 yr I get a chance to attend about 20 Barons games a year, but live out of town. Every chance I get to listen online to the games I do, but I HATE the fact that in order to listen online I have to catch the opposing teams broadcast. Sometimes it sucks listening to the biased opinions that of course you will get from the other teams broadcaster. I would love to hear about OUR prospects, the little side stories from OUR clubhouse, and what happens on a day to day basis with OUR Barons. It especially stinks when the opinions are harsh against our team or players. I know there are lots of fans of the White Sox minors and love to watch/listen to how potential major leaguers grow through the system. Especially since the Barons have so many great prospects it bugs me people who can't attend the games or listen the the local broadcast are stuck catching the opponent's broadcast and their viewpoints via the internet. The Barons are the ONLY one of the 10 teams in the entire Southern League that don't broadcast via the net. They also are the ONLY team in the White Sox minor league system (other than rookie ball) that doesn't offer the option. I am not sure if anyone (BHAMBARONS) can provide any insight or suggestions on how to get the Barons to invest in a internet feed. Thanks for any help C Edited May 17, 200520 yr by minorsfan

May 17, 200520 yr Actually, it is equally about the fact that the station Barons games are broadcast on, does not stream any of its content, so if the Barons were to do it, they would have to invest in all of the equipment to do it, or pay an outside company to do so at a per game rate (if those companies even still exist).

Right on Rex all about the station here Barons use to stream broadcasts with old radio station that ended after the 2002 season when the Barons signed with WYDE.

Thanks for the info... Maybe next time the radio broadcast comes up for contract they will consider choosing a station that offers that feature--- too bad for now I guess. C

May 17, 200520 yr Barons 4 Mississippi 3 W-Reynoso (2-1) L- Basner (0-4) Cory Haggerty came through in the clutch with a 2 out RBI single after a great at-bat which some of our prospects need to have. Tracey pitched very well 7 innings 3 runs allowed only walked one Braves hitter. Reynoso was outstanding came in the 8th went through the heart of the Braves order of Francouer, Thorman and McCann 1-2-3 strikeing out Francouer on a 96 MHP fastball. Dave Wilder in a interview strongly believes in Reynoso and his power arm will be a force for years to come for the Sox's. Bobby Jenks came in the 9th and got save #9 after a leadoff bunt single he got Luis Hernandez who was trying to bunt to foul off two pitches then gets the Strike out on a awsome breaking ball. The next batter hits into a game ending DP. Ryan Sweeney was 3-4 to raise his AVG to .343. Villicas on the mound tomorrow.

May 17, 200520 yr Gotta say I've been very impressed with Reynoso this year as well. Maybe there's something to look forward to there with him and Jenks.
May 17, 200520 yr http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/app/mil...bufaaa_chraaa_1 BATTING HR: Gautreau (8, 3rd inning off Diaz, 0 on, 1 out), Kinkade (5, 4th inning off Diaz, 0 on, 1 out). It's good to see Felix Diaz is back to doing what he does best -- giving up the long ball.
May 17, 200520 yr Dave Wilder in a interview strongly believes in Reynoso and his power arm will be a force for years to come for the Sox. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Interesting, I know lots of people (White Sox and other teams scouts) were watching him closely in Arizona this spring. He does have a live arm, no doubt. I was mildly surprised when they put him on the 40 man roster but they must've felt this guy was primed for a breakout year, and here it is. 3B Josh Fields in a slump ... down to .248, 0-4 last nite with 3 K's. May 17, 200520 yr QUOTE(JimH @ May 17, 2005 -> 06:53 AM) 3B Josh Fields in a slump ... down to .248, 0-4 last nite with 3 K's. He is in a big slump. Chasing pitches and taking called strikes he gets ahead a lot in the counts but on 2-0 3-1 he swings at bad pitches and gets the pitcher right back into the count. Yesterday was a great example ahead 3-1 in the count instead of taking ball 4 he swings at a pitch in the dirt then 3-2 takes called strike 3 down the heart of the plate.

The good news is, he's getting experience and it sounds like he's seeing a lot of pitches.

The kid really didn't know how to pitch even just last year. Nit-picked on the corners, was a human rain delay on the mound. You could see the talent, has a million dollar arm, throws hard, and everything moves. When he stops overthrowing and works quickly, he's a magnificently different pitcher than he was last year. As I said when I saw him in the spring (on tv), it's like he had a brain transplant. Looked like a totally different guy on the mound. Confident, trusting his stuff, working quickly. Guy has a world of talent. Wish I had video of him from last year, you guys in Birmingham wouldn't even recognize him. Hoping Jenks turns it around mentally, kid has a hell of an arm. Sounds like Razor is the perfect manager for the kid. Take no crap, take charge guy...

Oh ya, cause aside from that he's actually pitched quite well since coming off from an injury. Why don't you stop ripping on guys so much and start enjoying the season.

I was one of those in shock cause it meant Ryan Wing got away. Of course I remember Wilder and a few others mentioned that Reynoso just had a killer arm. He's a converted ss if I recall and any lefty that can throw in the upper 90's has some value.

May 18, 200520 yr Ya, Julio him both converted. I gotta say one thing, Paulino must of been the only 1st baseman that could throw with that kind of gas. I'd have loved to see him turn the DP over at 1st, lol.
