Knights lost 5-2. Person ugly start. Frank 1-4, Anderson 0-4.

Barons are off.

Salem @ Winston-Salem An unreal 2nd inning for the 'Hogs. The first 9 batters of the inning reached. 2 HRs, 3 doubles, 3 singles, 2 walks, and an error. 14 batters in the inning. 11 runs in all. Uh, wow.

Delmarva @ Kannapolis Good ole pitching duel. Harrell with one of those things with no hits allowed through 6. Meanwhile the I's have managed only 1 hit themselves.

Damn, what a f***ing crazy inning.

1 hit through 6 total? I love games like that.

Harrell with a 1-2-3 7th. The announcer sounded impressed when he saw his fastball clocked at 93. He got ahead of batters the batters there as well as a couple nice defensive plays by Francisco Hernandez and a diving catch by the recently signed Bernie Gonzalez. After getting 2 infield hits and an error with infielders getting a glove on each ball the I's had the bases loaded for Hernandez who grounded into a double play. First batter to start the 8th gets an infield hit, beat out the throw. That's a gay way to lose a no hitter.

'Hogs win 22-8. A lot of offense. 3 hits for Schnur, Hall, Nanita, and 4 for Collaro who had 2 HRs. 2 HRs for Hall and one for Amador. Whisler had a rocky last inning, gets credit for a save (trivia question material if he makes it in the bigs as a starter). He probably got tired. Box Score

Kanny won a 13 inning pitching duel. 1-0. The pitching staff only surrendered 3 hits. Harrell was the story, no-hitter into 8th, 8 Ks, 2 BB. Zaleski and co. with good relief. Box Score

Harrel is one of those guys to watch.  He was a lefty that has quite a bit of upside and was an exceptional pick by this organization.

He was the guy who surprised and impressed me the most in Bristol last year. He was much better than I imagined, legit prospect, good find by Sox scouts, they do good work in Missouri.

Harrell is Righthanded. He was chosen earlier than anticipated out of small Ozark HS in Mizzou. Sox were impressed with how he did in state tourney.

Yep, he was slated to go JuCo but the Sox went ahead and signed him right away, didn't want to risk trying to go the DFE route.

He's got a very good curve.

Well, I guarantee one thing, I'll call him a lefty again at one point or another. For whatever reason I've always thought he was a lefty and I'm one of those people who has a hell of a time changing things once I get something in my mind.

Kind of like mispronouncing a name. Cerb could tell stories of how much trouble I had pronouncing Schnurstein correctly

But ya, Harrel could of went a lot earlier and just seems to be one of those guys that could turn into a gem in the middle rounds.

I thought they took him earlier than most would have thought. He was projected later. Reminded them of Haigwood (small school kid). Maybe that is where you get the LH thing from. I do it too on others.

Harrell was drafted 4th round, earlier than projected. I was pretty shocked when they signed him right away given his intention to go to JuCo, but I'm glad they did. He goes JuCo, does well, and turns himself into a much more expensive sign...

He throws harder and has better stuff than Haigwood.
