I remember many sportswriters talking about how the loss of Magg$, Lee and Valenstache would affect our ability to hit the longball.

 

Our team OBP is still crappy. We need Frank back.

But that was more before the season. Once the season actually started and the Sox started winning games, experts predicted in wouldn't last because they weren't playing smallball and were still relying on the homer.

The whole point of this thread is to show that the Sox still do have homerun power. Before the season, most of the sportswriters wrote about the "Sox loss of power" and predicted that we wouldn't be able to hit many homers after losing Magg$, Lee, and Valenstache. Obviously, they were wrong.

Well, if one sportswriter is wrong I don't see why there's a problem with pointing out when others are wrong as well.

Exactly...there was a lot of talk of 'loss of power' which was all bulls***. We still have plenty of homer power...but now we have other ways to score runs...we added more elements to the team...speed and defense were greatly improved.
