June 2, 200520 yr Baj, Walker, Cotts. Each of these RPs are more and more likely to be pitching in AAA next week. When Gload comes back, then they don't have to waive Ozzie's houseboy Timo.
June 2, 200520 yr Cotts is one of Ozzie's boys too. Plus there's no way I can picture Ozzie going with only one left in the pen.
June 2, 200520 yr Author QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 02:32 AM) Cotts is one of Ozzie's boys too. Plus there's no way I can picture Ozzie going with only one left in the pen. I couldn't picture Ozzie doing a lot of the stupid stuff that he has done lately. He'll wear out Marte's arm by the end of this year.
June 2, 200520 yr QUOTE(knightni @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 01:37 AM) He'll wear out Marte's arm by the end of this year. Please explain how.
June 2, 200520 yr Author Ozzie has been having Marte pitch 2 innings per game quite often lately, and, Marte has by far, more appearances this year than any other RP on the Sox.

One-third into the season: 26 G 19.2 IP Last year: 74 G 73.2 IP Multiply this year's numbers by three, and you'll see Marte is on track to pitch four more games but less innings than last year. He is not being overused.
June 2, 200520 yr QUOTE(nvxplorer @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 01:53 AM) One-third into the season: 26 G 19.2 IP Last year: 74 G 73.2 IP Multiply this year's numbers by three, and you'll see Marte is on track to pitch four more games but less innings than last year. He is not being overused. How much of that is because Marte would walk 2, allow a hit, and only get 1 out before leaving the game? That is still a lot of pitches. I'd like to see how many batters he's faced over how many innings he has pitched.
June 2, 200520 yr Cotts is goin down to AAA? With a 3.38 ERA and being the 2nd lefty in our pen? Eh, ok... Walker is gone to AAA...for Gload, they will either put Frank on the DL, or OMIT should be gone, one of the 2...seeing as OMIT is an Ozzie favorite, I'm guessing Frank will see the DL to give the brass 15 more days to figure out who is not gonna be with the team anymore.
