TinkerTinker During the last 30 games, Rowand has knocked out 39 hits in 118 at-bats (.331) and raised his average from .235 to .287. He also hit .392 (20-for-51) during the recent 13-game stretch. But Rowand is a perfectionist. While he fully admits his swing is pretty good right now, Rowand still points to the timing and rhythm of his approach that need to improve in order to catch the ball more out front, get the ball up in the air and drive it on a consistent basis. Correct me if I am wrong, but if you get out in front of the ball more to get it up in the air. Is that or is that not Pulling the ball for more power. This is exactly what Carlos Lee did last year after his 28 game hitting streak. He was hitting doubles like crazy and then started going for pull and lift. Our offense is barely functioning outside of our top 3 guys. Now we have someone that wants to adjust his swing. Why break what is working.

June 12, 200520 yr Actually Carlos was punchless in his 28 game streak. Juan Uribe had more extra base hits than he did over the same stretch of time.

We need guys to hit more and make consistant contact.
June 12, 200520 yr Carlos actually hit opposite field to continue the streak. But yeah I don't want to see Rowand try to more power, he has enough power where it'll come naturally. He's not going to be a 30 home run guy, I wish he'd just concentrate on being a .300 batting average guy.
June 12, 200520 yr Yeah, this is bad. This is exactly what got Podsednik to his piss poor BA last year. He tried swinging for power and got 12 HR's, but his AVG sucked ass.

I am pretty sure he can hit 30 in a season, won't be this year but he will a couple times.
