June 30, 200520 yr Well I'm gonna guess that he'll pitch brilliantly until the 7th when Pods will misplay a ball over his head and blow the Win for BMac.
June 30, 200520 yr He was good. But, you do KNOW that I-Rod flyout was long gone at home right? Still, you pitch to the park and he used it pretty effectively on the whole.
June 30, 200520 yr QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 06:44 PM) 6 2/3 IP, 8 hits, 5 K, 4 BB, 3 ER I was close as hell. Off by 1/3 IP, 2 hits, 4 BB. I got the 5 K and 3 ER right.
June 30, 200520 yr I can't wait to see the line predictions if McCarthy pitches at the Cell in his next start.
June 30, 200520 yr QUOTE(jerseysox @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 05:04 PM) i EXPECT six innings of three-run ball
June 30, 200520 yr QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 10:25 PM) I was close as hell. Off by 1/3 IP, 2 hits, 4 BB. I got the 5 K and 3 ER right. That's not close.
June 30, 200520 yr QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 11:28 PM) That's not close. Just the 4BB. I a glad he didn't walk anybody though. Take away walks and I pretty much got it.
June 30, 200520 yr BMac had control of his curveball. When he has that he doesn't need a 3rd pitch. When his curveball is off, it's hard for him to succeed without that change.
June 30, 200520 yr He still gave up some hammered shots though. Still with that being said, it was a quality start, which was all we could ask for from that slot in the rotation.

Still with that being said, it was a quality start, which was all we could ask for from that slot in the rotation. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes, it was a QS. But I still fear him pitching at the Cell. He probably would have given up 4 homers if he was pitching at the Cell tonight.
June 30, 200520 yr Yeah, but he settled down until the 7th. Heck, he already surpassed my expectations after seeing the Texas game.
June 30, 200520 yr QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 11:16 PM) Yes, it was a QS. But I still fear him pitching at the Cell. He probably would have given up 4 homers if he was pitching at the Cell tonight. But he wasn't pitching at the Cell. If he was, he might have pitched those guys differently. He did what he did tonight. Why belittle his accomplishments with meaningless speculation?
June 30, 200520 yr But he wasn't pitching at the Cell. If he was, he might have pitched those guys differently. He did what he did tonight. Why belittle his accomplishments with meaningless speculation? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Because he is prone to giving up deep fly balls. He did it at Wrigley, he did it at Texas, and he did it at Detroit. Those deep flies tonight are homers at many ballparks and definately at the Cell. He will have to pitch his home games at the Cell, right?

June 30, 200520 yr Damn, you're a stubborn cuss. :headshake <{POST_SNAPBACK}> He also did it at Charlotte. Maybe that's just the way he pitches a la Eric Milton -- a flyball pitcher. That won't fly well pitching at the Cell. No pun intended.
