April 30, 200322 yr north of where I live we have miles of osprey nesting sites. They are magnificant birds and the unique nesting behavior is what makes this incident more disgusting. An osprey would be (pardon the phrase) a sitting duck in that it would stay in place to protect its young. Being killed while protecting one's children - that is how this bird died. opsreys]ospreys

May 1, 200322 yr I am not good at making comparisons. I can tell you that. And I agree that it is cruel and sick. But, although it is a tragedy that the bird is dead...and that it was killed intentionally...he shouldn't be deported because of it. Maybe that's what I meant to say and I am sorry for the poor comparison. that is very fair - you've not been here as much lately or have I just been missing your posts? I haven't been on here as much lately....been busy. I've had baseball on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 3-5...and then I watch a little TV....then eat supper....then a little more tv....then it's the Sox game(most of the time). And when the Sox play the Twinkies....I can watch the game(most of the time). I've also been watching a bit more of the NBA and NHL playoffs....mainly the TWolves in the NBA....and just anything in the NHL....whatever's on. I get on when I can. This board is always entertaining.

No. Let me think.... I say he should go to jail for this. Let's say...3 years, parole after 2 if he's "good". Cruelty to animals, endangered or not, should be punished heavily. It's just sick to harm a defenseless animal who was not threatening anybody or anything.
