Urban Legends ~Let's Start One~

Featured Replies

After reading the fake perfum warning, I thought Soxtalk should start our own urban legend. With all our posters and everyone in our address books we could get one strated in a heartbeat.

mice at wrigley. People have reported little bites on their ankles at the games. Let it blow up from there

Nice, getting Wrigley involved. I like that.

The only problem is it won't spread nationally, only around Chicago.

Alligators in the sewers? :P

Alrighty then...next best thing

Wrigley gum.

A batch of faulty corn syrup causes stomach illness?? Or to use a bigger word that might scare people...All their gum has acesulfame K.

Here, I even found something bad about acesulfame K: Acetoacetamide, a breakdown product, has been shown to affect the thyroid in rats, rabbits, and dogs. Administration of 1% and 5% acetoacetamide in the diet for three months caused benign thyroid tumors in rats. The rapid appearance of tumors raises serious questions about the chemicalÕs carcinogenic potency."

Clearly Wrigley gum causes tumors

How about...the movie "Blues Brothers" was actually a plot to get people to do more/ buy more *insert thing here*.

Reading the Tribune causes cancer.

I told you just to play with them, not to smell them.

BTW, have you ever smelled moth balls?
