WSoxMatt
Did Pods ever get credit for #51 last night. I know at first the OS said CS but was wondering if that changed and I just missed it?
WilliamTell
Yeah he got a stolen base but went over the bag and got put out. So it still counts as a stolen base.

Yossarian
IIRC at first the official scorer gave him a SB, then changed it to a caught stealing. Anyone go the game or have a better view? I wasn't sure he was out from the camera angle I was looking at. Edited July 24, 2005 by Yossarian
daa84
QUOTE(Yossarian @ Jul 24, 2005 -> 12:01 PM) IIRC at first the official gave him a SB, then changed it to a caught stealing. Anyone go the game or have a better view. I wasn't sure he was out from the camera angle I was looking at. he was easily safe and then came off the bag by about 1 inch. a truly ticky tacky call that rarely gets called. imo it should be scored as a stolen base of 2nd, and then CS of 3rd base, since a pickoff goes in the book as a CS, even tho it wasnt a pickoff, it was pretty much the same thing
WSoxMatt
He came off the bag, he was out...It was a good call...Personally I would have scored it a SB, out 4 unassisted!
The Critic
It should have been a stolen base since the ump called safe then out, and then while explaining it to Pods used the safe signal, then pointed to where he came off the bag and used the out signal. I just wish the umps were that picky about touching second base when it comes to double plays. That "neighborhood tag" by infielders is a joke. Dick Allen
They changed the rule this year. If you overslide a base it goes as a caught stealing. In previous years it was a steal.
