May 7, 200322 yr It was an interesting night of baseball at the Hoover Met tonight. We had a rain delay, a Barons comeback 4-3 win (scored one in the 8th and two in the bottom of the 9th) and visits from several Major League personnel. Seen watching from the stands were Dodgers GM Danny Evans, Sox Roving Infield Instruction Nick Leyva, Sox Roving Bunting Instructor/Great Falls rookie Manager Cris Cron and Sox Minor League Pitching Instructor Kirk Champion. No sign of KW, however.

Were one of the big pitchers on the mound? Yes, Jacksonville (Dodgers AA) was in town. The other guys just making their rounds. That's what rovers do. It was just weird seeing them all at once. The only ones missing were Snyder, Lum and Thompson.

There are always scouts, but not always brass from the big club. It was a s***ty, rainy night. Players had to hold back some, field was wet.

My guess is nothing. I joked with Danny tonight asking him if coming back was a reunion or if he was coming back to the Sox. He laughed and referred to LA as the place he wants to be now. I'd certainly welcome it. But I don't think teams take another team's GM during the season. Would that be unprecedented?

It is much higher profile, a great farm system, and a way bigger budget.

I was told he got there late afternoon yesterday.. but with only a briefcase and a small carryon bag.

May 7, 200322 yr i had heard (from my friend) that kw was in charlotte (sat nite and into sunday) and then headed to bham for a short visit then back to here....if he is in fact in oaktown its news to some in the front office.. as of yesterday it wasnt on their schedule for him to be there...... maybe he went without telling anyone??? im waiting on a call back today to find out what the heck is up...............
