September 15, 200520 yr We are officially starting to blow the lead after tonight's collapse. For the first time it seriously looks like the Tribe is gonna pass us by. So we need to get Frank to dress for the rest of the season and be bench coach, morale booster or some such thing. We need Frank in the dugout for moral support or to help Oz kick some butt. We can't let this magical season slip away without a fight.
September 15, 200520 yr Author I'm just saying we have to do something. It's slip, slip, slipping away and we are helpless to stop it.
September 15, 200520 yr I'm not sure about Frank helping out in any emotional or mental way. Frank reminds us, and probably the players, of the old days. These aren't the old days. This is a new team with a whole new way of winning. I think they need to do it on their own terms. That said, it is hard to deny the knowledge Frank could provide. Maybe he can help out during BP and pre-game prep to provide that knowledge. What do people think? What effect would Frank have on the players right now?
September 15, 200520 yr QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 11:48 PM) Here's the solution: WIN! I like that solution.
September 15, 200520 yr When I got back from Wyoming, I heard via Hawk that Frank actually dropped by the team during the last Texas series, kicked a few butts, and, for example, got the kinks worked out of Uribe's swing (something that has worked pretty well for us, I'd say). Last I read, Frank was seen living it up again in Vegas. Maybe it wouldn't hurt if he dropped by to kick a few butts.
September 15, 200520 yr Frank needs to be there. Hitting assistant, bench coach, whatever. If Brandon ends up pitching more, having his idol in the dugout would be huge for him.
September 15, 200520 yr Frank as a bench coach? Maybe. Frank as a hitting coach? Maybe. Frank as an enforcer? Hell yes.
