September 23, 200520 yr Author If they don't make the playoffs it might be wise to cancel Sox Fest. It will not be pretty.
September 23, 200520 yr QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 23, 2005 -> 06:41 PM) If the Sox do fail to make the playoffs, there will be such hatred from the fans for what happened that the best step the organization could do would be to fire the person who's pissing the fans off the most, Ozzie. Who knows, maybe the fan backlash would make JR open up the checkbook and bring in a superstar this offseason? Who the f*** am I kidding! We both know they would have to do quite a bit to remedy the situation if they blow it. A lot of fans will not be happy at all.

I've never been more proud of my fellow Sox fans than the last week or so when they boo Ozzie every time he comes to the mound. You can even tell that KW senses this, and his article didn't go out of the way to try and take pressure off of Ozzie.
September 23, 200520 yr QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 23, 2005 -> 12:31 PM) Well actually Dick Clark is still alive... Are we sure? I haven't heard anything about him since he took ill.
September 23, 200520 yr QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Sep 23, 2005 -> 06:53 PM) Are we sure? I haven't heard anything about him since he took ill. He was probably just getting another facelift.
September 23, 200520 yr QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Sep 23, 2005 -> 12:55 PM) Pinella or Torre? Who would you want? I take Torre. I'd take Piniella.
September 23, 200520 yr If you did get Torre, then we'd also likely raise payroll. I can't see Torre taking over for a team without a top 10 payroll, etc. Am I the only one who gets way too happy when anyone suggests Ozzie might not be back?

If his replacement is cheap managerial knock off yes. Leyland (good friend of JR by the way) no.
September 23, 200520 yr BTW, I still think Steve Stone has a future with Sox managment very soon. I always thought he'd be the next GM, but there's always the chance he'd be interested in being a manager.
