October 3, 200520 yr I thought the main reason NY got rid of him is because,he always got rocked by the Red Sox! I know he is not the same pitcher now,as he was then but it makes you think.
October 3, 200520 yr Have you seen Contreras pitch in 2nd half of the season? Did you see him evolve into a perenial ace like the rest of us did? Enough said. He is our hottest pitcher. And comparing the Yankee version of Contreras to the White Sox version of him is like comparing apples and oranges. He is a very different pitcher now. We have been riding Contreras the whole 2nd half of the season- and the way i see it- why stop now?
October 3, 200520 yr That's when Mel had him in his hands. He's going to be at home, he's (hopefully) not tipping pitches anymore, and he trusts his fastball and works quick. He's going to be pitching in the series anyways, I say better off at home

EDIT: 5 and 2/3, 3 earned runs, nothing awesome but this is before Jose went nuts. Edited October 3, 200520 yr by Rowand44

October 3, 200520 yr he's struggled against Boston in the past, but had a decent start against them this year. I'm more worried about using the count against Los Angeles because they steal his butt blind.
October 3, 200520 yr Jose is 2-0 against Boston while wearing a White Sox uniform one of those was last year in Fenway just weeks after he was tatooed by the Red Sox in a Yankee uniform.

I can't think of anybody in the al, outside of maybe Santana, that I would want going in game one.
October 3, 200520 yr Let's quit worrying about every little thing. Past stats in a post season don't mean squat plus Contreras is one of the hottest pitchers in baseball right now.
October 3, 200520 yr I would rather he be pitching for us than to us. Tomorrow is going to be such a long day.
October 3, 200520 yr I didn't see it posted anywhere, but Contreras was named AL Pitcher of the Month for September. That makes 3 Sox pitchers who have done that this season.

If ever I see an analyst question the Sox starting pitching, I think I'm gonna snap. 4 starters with ERAs below 4, 4 starters with 14 wins or more, and just sick numbers in the last weeks of the regular season. It's our f***in' time.

It's our f***in' time. I really believe that this is our time. There is something about this team that is "special". No superstars, yet the best record in the AL. Just a bunch of damn good, solid, ballplayers...... with a chip on their shoulders.
